TOEFL Test Pattern : The TOEFL test evaluates ability of a non-native English speaker to read, write and speak English. There are four sections in the TOEFL Test Pattern, namely, listening, reading, speaking and writing which take a total of about four and a half hours to complete. During the TOEFL , candidates are asked to perform tasks that combine more than one skill in the TOEFL test pattern ,
such as:
a) Read, listen and then speak in response to a question
b) Listen and then speak in response to a question
c) Read, listen and then write in response to a question
The break-up of the four sections in TOEFL Test pattern with allotted marks is given below:

According to the TOEFL Test Pattern , candidates get a break of 10 minutes after the reading and listening tests. Since March 2013, in the TOEFL test pattern the Listening and Speaking sections of the TOEFL iBT test (Internet-based test) include other native-speaker English accents in addition to accents from North America. As per the TOEFL test pattern , Candidates might hear accents from the United Kingdom, New Zealand or Australia.There is no specific TOEFL syllabus. As such, the candidate is not required to refer to any particular subject and study the sections given in the test pattern of TOEFL . The candidate should focus more on developing the mentioned skills.
TOEFL is recognized by more than 9,000 participating institutes of TOEFL across 130 countries, including Australia, Canada, the UK and the United States. It is conducted more than 50 times a year at 4,500 test centres worlwide. You can register for TOEFL on a convenient TOEFL test date . TOEFL is conducted by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and has, basically, two formats of TOEFL- TOEFL iBT (Internet-based test) and TOEFL PBT (paper-based test). TOEFL is usually held on Saturdays and Sundays. A candidate may retake a test as many times required. But the test cannot be taken within 12 hrs of the previous exam taken.
